Guidelines

Here are the rules. These are meant to ensure the quality of discussion and information found here. They are not flexible and will be enforced. The reasoning behind them is to make sure good information doesn't get buried by childish behavior. If you have a question about one of these rules please PM a staff member. We're always glad to discuss and avoid problems before they happen.

  • No attacks, slander, racial slurs, bigotry, etc. If you bicker, argue and fight you will be shown the door. We're adults, act like it.
  • No discussion of illegal activities. No discussions of illegally modifying firearms. If the local DA and police frown on it, don't discuss it here.
  • No posting of personal information, yours or others. Please keep this information private. You are ultimately responsible for the security of your personal information.
  • No posting of the same topic in multiple forums in an attempt to get more response. Additionally, no spamming.
  • No link dumping. If you post a link do it correctly or the thread will be locked/disappear. Threads with links should include a synopsis of the article/video being linked, notification of where the link is taking us and (most importantly) some connection to firearms. Threads with a subject line and link without the above will be zapped.
  • No "where did my thread go" threads. If you can't find your thread PM a staff member.
  • Staff members are tasked (amongst many things) with protecting the best interests of the website and our members. As such there is a degree of discretion available to staff members. Sometimes they will make judgment calls on threads and other content that skirt prohibited subjects or when dealing with those who can't play by the rules. Staff reserves the ulitmate right to remove content without discussion.
  • Please try to place topics in the correct forum. Posting subjects wherever you please makes for an unorganized website. We're glad to move them once in a great while, but repeat offenders will not be looked upon kindly.
  • No necroposting. Please have something new and relevant to add to the discussion when you bring these threads back from the land of the undead.
  • Users and members utilizing this website will abide by ALL Local, State, and Federal regulations related to the possession, sale, and transfer of firearms, ammunition, and other regulated goods. We prohibit access to the website as a member for persons who have been convicted of any Felony, misdemeanor crimes of domestic violence, and those who are otherwise considered a prohibited person under existing federal law (18 U.S.C. § 922(g)). We reserve the right to forward user information to local authorities when requested, or when there is suspicion of illicit activity. Those found violating these policies will be banned permanently.
  • Direct shipping of firearms from member to member as a part of a transaction is explicitly prohibited.
  • Members should understand they are responsible for ensuring they are up to date and complying with all local, state, and federal regulations. We highly recommend you review the ATF website for changes in rules that may govern the private sale of firearms.
  • Members will comply with ATF Ruling 2022R-17F (Click Here for More Information) regarding the definition of "Engaged in the business" as a dealer of firearms. It is the members responsibility to ensure compliance.
  • The staff of MGT reserve the right to limit, ban, or delete accounts as deemed necessary if violations of these terms are observed or brought to our attention.

These rules are designed to keep us focused on the topic of the forum. They are subject to change as situations warrant.

If you have any questions or concerns, don’t hesitate to contact one of our Administrators.

Thanks, and welcome to Manasota Gun Traders!
